"Let It Breathe" (2003)

Firey loins burn bright with these brothers, as they weave a treasure trail of musical stardust leading back through the vast waistband of Classic Rock, the splendid dentistry of The British Invasion, and the bathing habits of the giants of the Blues. Here is some lovingly crafted, homegrown guitar-based rock for your unjoyment — a funky union of epic musicianship and richly inventive songwriting. Yes, it’s the Yolles Brothers and we have waited too long...

Let It Breathe is the debut from The Yolles Brothers (December 2003). The Yolles Brothers are Lawrence Yolles (drums, cymbals, and animus) and Joe Yolles (guitar, bass, vocals, percussion, keyboards), with some help from Bruce Burdick (piano, orchestral arrangements, backing vocals). Cover design and photography by Loraine Hara Yolles (http://www.haragraph.com/).

Over the last 15 years, The Yolles Brothers have recorded, performed and sometimes even played together up and down the Mississippi River region with a rotating cast of musicians & bands. On Let It Breathe, their first official release as The Yolles Brothers, Joe Yolles (gtr, bass, vocals) and brother Lawrence (drums & cymbals) have crafted a batch of 13 modern songs that owe much to the power, warmth & soul that produced the best music of the 60s & 70s — a breath of fresh air these days. Captivating songwriting anchors layers of electric, acoustic and slide guitar, fluid vocal melodies, and a tightly interlocking rhythm section borne of a musical telepathy only brothers can know.
